Watch: Coach small wallet: A coach’s story – from a family’s perspective article Coach small wallets is a weekly programme that follows a group of players on a journey from the grassroots to the big time.
It explores the challenges and triumphs of their journey to success and how the lessons they learn can apply to their own lives.
A journey from humble beginnings in Australia to international glory and now in England, the programme is hosted by a panel of commentators and coaches.
It is the culmination of a decade-long pursuit to explore the impact of coaching on individuals, families and communities.
The programme’s creator is former Australian Rugby League coach and broadcaster Tom Burgess.
He said he wanted to explore how coaching has changed and expanded the way people view themselves and the world.
“I think that is the key to what I am trying to get across,” he said.
“It’s about what you become and how you become it, and I think the idea is that the more you understand yourself and the more people around you that are the same way, the better off you are as a person and the better you are at being a coach.”
Burgess is the creator of the BBC Three programme Coach Small Wallet and is also the founder of the small wallet blog.
The program was launched in 2014 and has since been featured on a range of sports channels including the BBC Four Sport, Channel 4 and BBC One.
